Working arrangements: The work is to be undertaken at the Commission’s Office located in Canberra ACT. The expectation is 5 days a week (8 hours per day) Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). Flexible working arrangements can be negotiated after commencement.

Length of contract: 6 months

Contract extensions: 1 x 6 months

Security clearance: Must have a current Negative Vetting Level 1

Rates: $110 - $140 per hour (inc. super)


The National Anti-Corruption Commission is seeking a skilled Data Architect with proven and diverse experience in designing complex data solutions within in a fast-paced project environment with wide and deep knowledge of data platforms and technologies.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of an enterprise data storage and analytics capability by designing a data architecture solution based on the most suitable technologies, configuration and approach to meet the Commission’s data and reporting needs across the data lifecycle. They will design, create, deploy and manage the way data will be structured, stored, used, integrated and managed in IT systems.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Work with a wide variety of business and technical stakeholders to design a scalable, enterprise-wide data solution.
    • Review the identified business needs and translate them for technical implementation.
    • Design the high level and detailed level of data flow within the NACC, including data collection, data storage, data integration, data lineage and retention to ensure a seamless data cycle.
    • Develop data models, schemas, and database structures to support reporting needs.
    • Embed appropriate data governance, security and compliance standards as part of the solution design.


    Essential criteria:

    1. Expertise in Data Architecture - strong knowledge of data modellings, integration, governance and data storage & processing technologies. Enterprise Data Strategy Alignment - ability to design scalable and secure data solutions that align with business requirements and strategic goals. Technical leadership - experience in taking the initiative and pursuing desired outcomes. Proficiency in modern data platforms - deep understanding of cloud, ETL, data warehousing, data lake and data analytics technologies. Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.

    Desirable criteria:

    1. Experience working with law enforcement or intelligence agencies would be advantageous.
